Allison and Travis waited a long time for this day and it was perfect. These two met back in high school and have come so far together. Before I continue, let’s go back to their high school years and those moments when they first started dating.

When I arrived at the hotel room that morning, I asked Allison to sit in a chair by the window so that I could photograph her opening a gift from Travis and reading the letter he wrote her. I watched her through my view finder as she opened a small bag from Shane Company and pulled out a dainty necklace with writing on it. She read it and wiped away tears. I asked her what was written on it and she told me that back in high school when they first started dating she changed her name in his phone to “my fav girl” and its stayed that way all these years. The necklace was engraved with the words “my fav girl” on one side and on the other side were his initials and their wedding date. Before I knew it my view finder was foggy from tears filling my eyes. It was the sweetest and most sentimental gift that she can wear forever.

Although Allison had been dreaming of a Greysolon Ballroom wedding, the pandemic had other plans. She called and told me that they were forced to move their reception outdoors and would no longer be at Greysolon. My heart shattered for her and I reassured her that the pandemic would not take the joy out of her wedding day. We decided to stop at Greysolon regardless and capture the photos she had been dreaming of outside the iconic ballroom. Big thanks to their awesome wedding party for helping to make that happen!
