The Best Business Investment I Ever Made

Hey friends!

Today I am sharing with you the best investment I ever made in my business, Honeybook.

In 2016 I was managing clients through the use of excel spreadsheets and reminders in my planner. Reminders to follow-up, email, payment reminders, gifting, wedding dates, session dates.. you get the idea. Lots of things to remember, all filed away in folders that I would dig through when I needed something.

Enter Honeybook. I had heard about this from another business owner who claimed they used it to run their business. It sounded too good to be true but I didn’t have anything to lose so I signed up for the free trial. Needless to say, I was blown away! It was automating my business in ways I never knew existed. After the trial was over I teetered on whether or not to buy it because $500 was a lot of money for my little business.

With some convincing from the sales rep and a leap of faith, I bought a membership and I’m SO thankful I did.

Not every investment has been a good one but this one has been the best! I’m always telling people about it so I figured it was time to write a review and share it with the world.

Here’s my Honeybook review and why I love it.

1. All Client Info In One Spot

Honeybook keeps all of my clients organized in one spot. Each client has a file that contains all of our back and forth emails, contracts, payments, timelines and questionnaires in one spot!

2. Simplifies Workflow

So long to the days of writing out reminders everyday. Honeybook has workflow systems that you can customize and assign to different clients. So instead of remembering to send payment reminders, follow up emails, questionnaires or any other general tasks, I just set it up so that Honeybook does it automatically for me.

3. Collaborating With Others

Inside of Honeybook there is a section called community where you can post jobs or look for job offers from other creatives. For example I post in there when I’m looking for a second shooter. I’ve also seen posts looking for virtual assistants or web designers. Its also a great place to discover other creatives and connect for things like styled shoots, business help and education.

If you are working on a project (lets say a wedding) with another vendor that uses Honeybook, you can add them to your client file to keep all client information and communication about that project in one spot. So if I added a florist they could view our schedule to know when we need bouquets by or if I connect with a wedding planner we can work together on a timeline for photos that flows with the rest of the wedding day. Maybe the bride or the mother of the bride has a question about the photography timeline, all she has to do is hop on Honeybook to view the file and see all of our communication. If there is a question or a change she wants to make all she has to do is leave a message in there. Pretty cool, huh?!

4. Clients Love The Ease

Clients love Honeybook! It’s so easy to use! From personal experience I loved it from a client standpoint. Our wedding photographer uses Honeybook and we loved having our files in one spot. Especially when wedding planning gets busy and you’re wondering “when is that payment due?” or “Did we let the photographer know about this or that?”. You can reference emails, timelines, check payment schedules and make payments online.

5. Freedom From My Desk

I LOVE this!! Honeybook has an app which keeps my business running when I’m out of the office. I also sync my calendar so that my work schedule and home schedule are all in one spot on my phone. It makes life so much easier! I can answer questions, create files and respond to inquiries all from my phone.

 

I love Honeybook because it saves me so much time! Making room in my schedule for more sessions, weddings and more importantly time with my family.
