Summer Wedding at Giants Ridge | Janae + Patrick

Janae and Patrick had a gorgeous mid-summer wedding at Giants Ridge!! Everything about their wedding day was perfect. These two met at a mutual friend’s wedding in the summer of 2013. While the sparks didn’t fly that night, they did find out that they would both be attending the same college the following year. Janae was already in her college career and Patrick was just beginning his schooling, as well as being part of the hockey team. Since It was Patrick’s first year at the school, he “shot his shot” and messaged Janae asking her how to navigate the school’s website (which was really just an excuse to talk to her). After talking and hanging out for months, they finally became exclusive!

Fast forward years later, Patrick and Janae were celebrating Thanksgiving in Janae’s hometown with her family. Patrick had suggested that the two of them go for a walk before having their dinner. While on their walk, Patrick proposed to Janae on the road she grew up on. How sweet is that?! They came back to her family’s house and everyone was elated for them and their engagement!

We started the day out by photographing Janae getting ready for her big day in her suite at Giants Ridge Lodge. She looked absolutely stunning! While I was gathering up her details to photograph, she said the lace hanky was part of her grandmother’s wedding dress and would be tied around her bouquet as part of her “something old”.

All of her bridesmaids were so much fun and so excited for her. We did a memorable first look with her father and then headed to The Villas at Giants Ridge. We met up with Patrick for their first look, and he was absolutely blown away! I mean why wouldn’t he be?! She looked gorgeous! During their bride and groom portraits, Patrick surprised her with their Goldendoodle puppy, Frankie!! Frankie is adorable and we were able to get some family portraits with the three of them. I always love when my couples include their furry friends in their wedding photos!

Their ceremony was outside at The Quarry at Giants Ridge. The officiant talked about how they had to reschedule their wedding during the pandemic and then they waited another ten months, so they could celebrate with all of their amazing friends and family! Janae and Patrick are such a sweet couple and they cherish their relationships with the people that are closest to them.

The cocktail hour and reception were back at the main chalet and it was beautifully decorated. We were able to catch the most incredible sunset that night. Everyone spent the evening dancing the night away. I am so glad I was able to photograph their gorgeous summer wedding!
