Maren + Ryan | Intimate Wedding on Lake Superior

I am so excited to share that Maren and Ryan are married!! These two had a picturesque intimate wedding on Lake Superior! They rented an Airbnb in Lutsen, Minnesota. The Honeymoon House is nestled in the woods right along the shore of Lake Superior. This house has many windows to take in the breathtaking view of the lake. They absolutely love this area, so they chose to have a destination wedding at this slice of heaven location.

Although it was a rainy day, they were troopers. I’ve always heard that rain on a wedding day is good luck, so that’s how we approached the day! Once Maren and Ryan were ready for the day, they shared a first look in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. Smiles immediately came across their faces once they saw each other. Maren looked stunning in her lovely wedding dress with a cathedral train and floor-length veil and wore a blue diamond heirloom ring as her something blue.

Their wedding ceremony was held inside the house facing the lake, which made for a beautiful backdrop. Afterward, we explored several rocky cliffs and stony shorelines of the lake, as well as a wooded area, while the home space was flipped to serve dinner.

I love photographing elopements because of the meaningful and intimate feel of the day. It was enjoyable to work alongside Northland Special Events for this intimate wedding on Lake Superior! It’s always fun exploring with my couple because we tend to grab more portraits of them. Even though it was a rainy day, we still captured terrific photos of the two of them in their favorite space on Lake Superior.
