Today I am sharing with you a few photos from my session with the Baker family. In the world of photography, this was everything a family session should be: genuine, fun, energetic and full of love! I feel like they nailed it with their style, wardrobe location and overall feel of their session. We played and talked by the Lake Superior while I got to know this busy family of six.

During the second half of this session I told Cate we would let the kids play so that I could capture more authentic smiles and expressions. She could not agree more and told me she loves those real smiles. During my family sessions, I always grab a few posed photos first and then allow the children to play and be themselves. If you want family photos but you’re worried about your children not listening or being crabby, don’t be. I can promise you they will have fun. The best smiles and expressions I capture are when they are being themselves. WARNING: I can’t promise you that I won’t play with trucks, talk about princess Elsa or become friends with your little one.
