Wedding Day Timeline Tips

Wedding day timeline tips

As your wedding day approaches, I’m sure one of your biggest desires is for it to run smoothly. Creating a wedding day timeline with your photographer will help. Organizing a timeline with your specific details will maintain easiness throughout your day. Let’s dive into those wedding day timeline tips!

Have a First Look

I always suggest to my couples that they have a first look on their wedding day before the ceremony. Doing a first look can save a lot of time on your wedding day. Instead of waiting after the ceremony to complete the family portraits, bridal party, and the bride and groom portraits, you can do some, if not all, beforehand! Doing a first look will allow you to enjoy more of the day. Instead of rushing through all the portraits so that you get to your reception on time, you can enjoy cocktail hour with your guests! Hire a Wedding Planner or Day of Coordinator

Hiring a wedding planner or day-of-coordinator can help things run smoothly on the day of your wedding! This person will ensure that everything is set up and ready to go and keep everyone on the timeline. If you don’t have someone as a day-of-coordinator, then sometimes this task will fall on your photographer, which will hinder them. If hiring someone to help isn’t an option, I suggest you appoint a highly organized friend who can follow the timeline and support as needed.

Add Cushion Time

Let’s admit it, sometimes things don’t always go as planned, so if that happens, try not to worry! Your photographer will do their best to get right back on track. When designing a timeline, I always add cushion time into the day. It’s imperative to do this at the beginning of the day when you are finishing getting ready. Sometimes getting you into your wedding dress can take longer than expected, or you need to do last-minute touch-ups to your makeup. The beginning of the day is a great place to add extra time.

These are just a few things that can help your day run more smoothly! Each wedding is unique, so no one timeline is the same. We will work on your wedding day timeline as your wedding planning goes forward, and about one month before the big day, we will finalize everything!
