Key West was so much fun! We spent three days on the island, which hardly felt like enough time. There is so much to do, the fun never stops! Most of our time was spent on the famous  Duval Street. We all went on the “Conch Trolley Tour” which showed us different historical areas on the island (Hemmingway’s House, Southernmost point..etc) along with a history of the island. I was so impressed with the history of the island and highly recommend the tour if you’re in the area!

Duval Street was great for food and shopping! We especially liked Willie T’s for dinner. There are dollar bills posted all over so of course Deegan wanted to leave his mark and posted a bill up with his name on it. He’s hoping it will be there when we come back!  The sunset festival at Mallory Square had live performers, shopping and even psychics! The sunset was gorgeous.. there really isn’t anything that compares to a Florida sunset.

Our last day on the Keys was spent at Theater of the Sea. We had looked at many places to swim with dolphins and while this was much smaller, it was magical. They are so good to their animals! All of the animals here were placed in natural habitats with sea water coming into them right from the ocean. We saw sea turtles, dolphins, alligators, crocodiles, parrots and many different fish. For the dolphin swim Deegan and I got into wetsuits (the water was 65 degrees! Brrr) and jumped in with the dolphins. Deegan loved it! His favorite part was dolphin kisses and the dorsal fin ride.

So many great memories were made this week! We all look forward to next time!

XO

Kirsten
