This week we are feeling extra blessed because our Papa turned 60! As many of you know our Papa has quite the history of health concerns so this was extra special for us! We celebrated by cooking a HUGE feast with friends.. and of course Dairy Queen ice cream cake. I’m not sure we ever have a birthday in our house where Dairy Queen is not involved.
At Paps’s party we had a special visitor from across the street! Dood is our neighbors (Amy and Craig) Goldendoodle. He is much like our dog Elle but about 60 lbs heavier. Deegan loved playing with Dood and even shared his dinosaurs with him! This is a big deal people, my son suffers from something called only child syndrome. For you parents out there you know the struggle is real when it comes to sharing.
We spent a couple days this week at the pool working on Deegan’s swimming skills. For those of you reading this from the frozen tundra I apologize in advance for even mentioning a pool day! Ok, back to swimming.. Deegan has been swimming without his life jacket and even working on his diving skills. This mama is so proud. I hardly knew how to swim until middle school so this is a big deal. Don’t judge me.. I’m still not very good in the water.
We are having lots of fun down here but we will be making the trek back to Minnesota next week. We will be home for a week or two, we don’t really know at this time. Meanwhile I will be driving my grandmother across country again with our friend Rosie!
See ya!
Kirsten
