My grandma has never traveled far from Duluth.. in fact she told me the farthest she has been from home was Ashland! Billy and I finally convinced her to travel. By that we meant across the country to Florida. The stubborn German in her refused to fly.. so I told her we would drive.  (grandpa was too stubborn to come along!)

Since I can remember my grandparents would listen to Elvis. When I was a little girl my grandpa would quiz me on Elvis songs. So when my grandma decided to do this HUGE across country trip.. I had to surprise her with a trip to Elvis Presley’s house.

“All Shook Up” doesn’t even begin to describe it! She was thrilled. She said she never imagined she would visit his mansion. Today we did just that and it was awesome!.. Bucket list? Check.

I always knew Elvis was the king of rock but I had no idea he was so kind and giving. I loved learning about Elvis and his family. His car collection? AMAZING. 56′ Cadillac Convertible? Yes please!

Tonight I brought her to Beale Street. We sang “Proud Mary” at the top of our lungs and talked about her younger years. She is incredible. She loves the music here and enjoyed Graceland to the fullest! I am so excited for our next adventure tomorrow!

Tomorrow we head south towards Florida. Grandma has never seen the ocean! She is so excited… Although I may be more excited 😉
